My name is Mercedes Márquez and I am from Cádiz, south of Spain. After graduating in Tourism and learning several languages I was moved by the idea of living abroad for a while. And so I did.

Attracted by its landscapes and music, I chose Edinburgh, Scotland, and what started for a month turned into more than seven years.

In 2019 I certified as a Spanish teacher after having a trip that changed my life, bringing me through Latin America for 3 months.

I realized that this time I wanted to be the one to help others to learn my language and get closer to its various cultures.

Like many students, I enjoy the flexibility of teaching online, but I also like to meet the people I teach in person. That's why, every so often, I like to meet up with my students in Edinburgh and practice Spanish together through different activities, from games to conversations.

And, of course, we also meet up in a more relaxed setting and enjoy a nice pint!
